The Soul of a Legend: The Kiesha Wright Story

A Foundation of Faith and Family

The story of Kiesha Wright begins in the heart of the Oakland Bay Area. A "hometown girl" with a gift from above, Kiesha was only five years old when she first sat at the church organ, playing songs and leading the Young Choir. Under the watchful eye and prayerful heart of her mother, her talent blossomed. Her mother was her first manager, pushing her to enter modeling contests and acting roles, which led to her film debut as a banjo player in The Magic of Lassie and a role alongside Eric Roberts.

From the Church Organ to the World Stage

Kiesha’s path took a dramatic turn when an agent spotted her performing in a small night club with two friends. He saw a spark that belonged in Las Vegas and introduced her to the late producer John Stewart. This was a crossroads: would she leave the gospel music of her youth for the bright lights of the stage? After praying with her mother, her mom gave her the greatest gift a parent can give—the blessing to fly. Kiesha joined Legends in Concert and traveled the globe, bringing her magic to Africa, China, Indonesia, and the Netherlands.

The "Real Deal" Connection

Perhaps the most historic chapter of her life was her time as an Ikette in the Ike & Tina Turner Revue. Known to the Queen of Rock 'n' Roll as Mary Bennett, Kiesha was one of the very last performers to work with the duo. She didn't just study the moves; she lived them alongside the legend herself. Her mother, knowing these moments were sacred, kept Kiesha’s original Ikette dresses, shoes, and pay stubs—treasures that Kiesha still holds dear today.

The Las Vegas Headliner

After years of touring, Kiesha stepped into her own power as a solo headliner. Her career has taken her from the Bay Area to the stages of Nashville and the heart of the Las Vegas Strip. She was recently blessed with a successful four-month residency at the OYO Hotel & Casino, followed by headlining shows at the Cannery Hotel & Casino, proving that her energy and talent are timeless.

The Author and Visionary

Today, Kiesha is building her most personal project yet: The Kiesha Wright Show. But her voice reaches far beyond the microphone. As a published author of three books on Amazon, she is sharing her wisdom and heart with the world. Her latest work, a children’s book titled The Beautiful Lady Who Rocks the World, is a tribute to the power of dreams and the strength of the female spirit.

A Legacy of Love

Kiesha Wright’s journey has been a long and winding road, but she has never walked it alone. Though her mother is no longer here in person, her spirit lives on in every song Kiesha sings and every word she writes. Kiesha remains deeply thankful to the Man Above for every blessing, every stage, and the opportunity to keep rocking the world.

The Authentic Tribute: Kiesha Wright as Tina Turner

From the Ike & Tina Turner Revue to the Solo Stage

Few tribute artists can say they learned from the source, but for Kiesha Wright, the "Tina Turner experience" is more than just an act—it is a piece of her own history. Performing under the name Mary Bennett, Kiesha had the legendary opportunity to work directly with the "Real Deal" herself as an Ikette in the iconic Ike & Tina Turner Revue.

As one of the very last performers to share the stage with the duo, Kiesha didn't just watch the magic; she lived it. During her time on tour, she mastered the high-octane choreography and the unmistakable stage presence that made Tina Turner a global phenomenon.

A Personal Legacy The time spent with the great legend, Tina Turner, was a joy that Kiesha carries with her to this day. It was a professional bond so genuine that Tina knew her simply as Mary Bennett. To ensure this incredible chapter of history was never forgotten, Kiesha’s mother kept her original Ikette dresses and shoes, along with her pay stubs from the Revue. These treasures stand as a testament to the time Kiesha spent close to the "Real Thing," learning from the best to become the powerhouse performer she is today
